SECOND APAVAC CONFERENCE

Dear members and friends of APAVAC , the Association of English Teachers of Comunidad Valenciana;

 Here we go again with our II Conference ready to start. This year's slogan is "KNOW HOW, KNOW WHO". 

That means that  we are focusing on hands-on everyday practice and on those foot soldiers who deal with students and survive.

We are also holding a FLEA BOOK MARKET , So bring yours and swap. We would like to stress that you MUST HAVE REGISTERED  if you want to attend and remember that the conference is only for members. If you are not and want to become one click HERE.  There is a deadline for registration on 20 November or when we are booked up whatever happens first.

1-BRING YOUR USED AND READ BOOKS IN A BAG

2-GET TOKENS FOR AS MANY BOOKS AS YOU BRING

3-SWAP TOKENS FOR NEW TITLES FROM THE BOOK STAND

4-TAKE THEM HOME

AT THE END OF THE DAY ALL BOOKS NOT CLAIMED BY SWAPPERS WILL BE CLEARED FOR 1€ EACH , PROCEEDS  GOING FOR  APAVAC FUNDING

Our second conference is in the oven. Bearing in mind that many members have suggested having a showcase of how we use our imagination and creativity in the classroom , now we invite you to show your know-how for an audience of colleagues.

We would like this conference to focus on what regular teachers use in their everyday teaching to motivate their students. We know all of you have a drawer full of excellent ideas and we are asking to share them and bring them to the conference. They don't  have to be   revolutionary  but just something that works well and you would  recommend to others, be it technological (digital boards, acoustics, electronics, uploading sound files ,etc), ESP and Vocational Training, class management, grammar games, wonderful websites, anything you consider might be of  interest to others. It could also be something you learnt  at a PALE  course and you want to share or what you learnt from a  Comenius project and want to disseminate.

The deadline for suggestions is October  21. Speakers will be assigned three 30 minute slots either before or after the break to give their talk to a different  audience every 30 minutes. There will be six speakers simultaneously so the audience will be able to attend up to six talks during the morning.
