An association to unite us all who teach English professionally has been created. The aim is to share experiences, exchange materials and encourage further training with conferences, lectures and debates and ultimately become the voice of teachers of English and liaise with all those involved and especially with our educational authority.

APAVAC Reading Club (Part 2)

By Michelle Ann Prabhu
Hiya!
> While looking up last year’s Nobel Prize winner Alice Munro, I came across an article that mentioned that two of her “short” stories  had been made into “full length” films.   That really aroused my curiosity….and the collection of short stories under the name Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage…was what I chose to read.

The irony here being how the ordinary could possibly grip one so!

    Brilliant Blog

We came across this wonderfully simple  blog by  Natalia López Zamarvide , asesora at CIFE  Juan de Lanuza, Zaragoza.
There you can find a substantial number of video clips subtitled by the author for English learners' convenience.

    http://watchinenglish.blogspot.com.es/

    In her own words

" This site is aimed at learners of English as a second language (ESL). In this site you may find videos taken from authentic sources. All the materials were freely available on the Internet.
You may watch them with or without subtitles in English (activate or deactivate the option on each video).
On the sidebar you may find the different topics / categories into which the videos have been grouped. Click on them to navigate the page more easily, and feel free to find a video which might interest you.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own the videos, nor is the artistic / creative content related to me in any way. The only work I've done is to subtitle them in English (in 95% of cases), in order to make them more accessible to learners of English, and foster autonomous learning.

Please, feel free to use this material in your lessons, embed it in your learning blogs, or for your own personal learning. Just remember to share it with others. "

You will also find her other blog " competencia lingüística y comunicativa" at  http://natalialzam.wordpress.com/  terribly interesting
