An association to unite us all who teach English professionally has been created. The aim is to share experiences, exchange materials and encourage further training with conferences, lectures and debates and ultimately become the voice of teachers of English and liaise with all those involved and especially with our educational authority.

The podcasts I will be publishing in a few days are about:

- Interactive White Board and its Didactic uses in Teaching English

- Creation of a Wiki

- Creation of a Webquest

I will begin with the first podcast on the didactic uses of the Interactive White Board

Interactive Whiteboard

This Section on "Interactive Whiteboard" (PDI, in Spanish) is aimed at explaining the IWB and the different didactic uses of it at Teaching English as a Foreign Language and, specifically, in Secondary Education, A-level (Bachillerato) and English Vocational.

I will begin by including a podcast in which I explain briefly some didactic uses of the IWB.

About me

Hello! My name is Salvador Montaner, and I am an English teacher.

I got my degree, BA in English Studies, at the University of Valencia. I also received the Certificate in Teaching (C.A.P) in order to work in State Secondary Schools. I have been working now for at least 12 years, teaching English at Secondary, A-level (Bachillerato) and Vocational English (Ciclos Formativos). I began teaching when I ran my own language school for 5 years, from 1998 to 2002.

I also received a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (same university and Cervantes Institute) and a Postgraduate Diploma in TEFL for General and Specific Purposes (ESP), University of Extremadura.

This academic year, 2012-13, I have begun specialising in Information and Communication Technologies in the Teaching of English as I am currently studying the MA in ICT in the Teaching of Modern Languages at the UNED .

With my teaching experience, I have learnt to develop social and personal skills such as being patient, feeling empathy with teenagers, understanding teenagers’ attitude, etc. This has made me mature professionally in order to become a professional English teacher. I am a very communicative person and I like working with my colleagues.

I got other skills such as Web Design, Translation, and mastery of languages such as German and Valencian.

Additionally, I am a member of APAVAC (Associació de Professors d’Anglès de València, Alacant i Castelló).
