An association to unite us all who teach English professionally has been created. The aim is to share experiences, exchange materials and encourage further training with conferences, lectures and debates and ultimately become the voice of teachers of English and liaise with all those involved and especially with our educational authority.

ELT CONFERENCE 2011
The British Council is pleased to announce its 4th annual ELT Conference, which this year will take place on Saturday 1st October .
As in previous years, we hope to offer a range of high quality and engaging sessions with a real focus on practical classroom application.
The title of this year’s conference is: 5 key issues in ELT, and we will be dividing the sessions into five thematic areas:
  • Practical ICT usage in the classroom
  • Teaching English to Primary students
  • Teaching English to Secondary students
  • Teaching English to adult students
  • Bilingual education and CLIL

The British Council’s Outreach programme works with local teaching communities and Teachers Associations and encourages participants and speakers from both state and private sectors to take part. If you would like to propose a session, send us your talk title, abstract (60-70 words) and bio-data before 15th July. We hope to be able to publish a pre-programme and timetable in September.
