An association to unite us all who teach English professionally has been created. The aim is to share experiences, exchange materials and encourage further training with conferences, lectures and debates and ultimately become the voice of teachers of English and liaise with all those involved and especially with our educational authority.

Subject: THIS SATURDAY: Streamed Sessions from the British Council Spain Annual Teachers' Conference 2015

Hi everyone,

I'd be grateful if you could pass on to your teachers and other contacts information about this Saturday's live streamed sessions from theBritish Council Spain annual teachers' conference, 2015. This year's theme is 'Learning to Learn', and we're lucky enough to haveGail Ellis giving the opening plenary. As you probably know, Gail is one of the leading authorities on this area, and has a new book on the topic published this year. We also have sessions on Early YearsExams, and encouraging class introverts, plus a closing show with a difference: an action-packed science show that connects English with STEM* learning for anyone interested in BilingualismCLIL, or with the curiosity to see a rocket-powered deckchair or a presenter set their own hair alight.

The schedule for the streaming is as follows (all Spanish times: UK +1 hour):

10.00-10.10 Welcome (Andy Mackay, Country Director Spain)
10.10-11.00 Teaching Our Learners How to Learn (Gail Ellis)
11.10-12.00 Early Years – Creating a Linguistically Rich Learning Environment (Joanna Marriot)
12.00-12.40 Speaker Interviews (Various: including all our streamed speakers, plus author Robin Walker, actor Jonathan D. Mellor, and many more!)
12.40-13.30 Testing and Exams: What Do We Need to Know? (Bernadette Maguire)
13.40-14.30 Small Talk: Making Introverts' Voices Heard in the EFL Classroom (Alastair Roy)
14.40-15.15 Ultimate Force: An Explosive Look at Forces and Pressure (Peter Wright / Wonderstruck)
